Creedence Clearwater Revival (also known as CCR) consisted of John Fogerty (vocals, guitar, harmonica,piano) Tom Fogerty (guitar, vocals, piano) Stu Cook (bass, guitar, vocals) and Doug Clifford (drums,percussion,vocals). The band hailed from the San Francisco Bay Area during the 1960's and 1970's. Although their roots were in California their sound consisted of more of "swamp blues" typical of Louisiana at the time. Their songs complimented this feel with names such as "Blue Bayou." Many of their songs can also be tied to the Vietnam War in example "Fortunate Son."
